How to find us

Coming from Madrid

You take the motorway A5 (also known as E-90) which is the Madrid – Badajoz – Lisbon route. At Km 250 there is an exit for Trujillo. Do not take this exit, but continue on the motorway to exit at Km 253. You will see the castle of Trujillo to your right. Leave the motorway at this exit and turn left, taking the road (EX - 208) to Zorita and Guadalupe.

Continue for 11 Kms, (you will have passed a filling station on your left) until you see on your left a restaurant with a large parking area called Mesón 1914. Directly opposite the restaurant is a right turn signposted S.Clemente. Take this right turn and follow the lane. You will go past a small bar on the left. Immediately after the bar, turn right and then left, along a short road with houses on each side. At the end of the road turn right. Soon you reach a round, brick water tank on your left. The entrance to El Recuerdo is just past this water tank on the right hand side of the lane. If the large dark green gates are closed, ring the bell on the left hand pillar.

- From Madrid Airport

Trujillo is about two and a half hours from the airport. You leave the airport taking the M40 ring road. It does not really matter whether you take the southern side (Sur) or northern side (Norte). The distance is similar. From Terminal One we prefer to take the M40 Sur, which is signposted rather obscurely just as one leaves the airport. Make sure you keep on the left lane as you are leaving the airport, until you are on the M40 itself (as there are several exits on the right, to avoid). Check the signs above the road that you are heading to M40 (ignore exits on your right which will take you into Madrid).

From Terminal Four, you look for the M40 sign, which you access quite easily via a short toll road.
Once you are on the M40, forthcoming exits are listed on the signs above the road. You will see the sequence A3, A4 and then A5. Look for signs for the A5 for Badajoz (you can also take the R5 for Badajoz, which is a toll motorway, at an exit just prior to the A5 exit).
