Madroño (Strawberry Tree)

The Strawberry Tree is a small evergreen tree, typical of Mediterranean woodland, but also occurring along the western seaboard of Europe. It thrives in poor soils and grows to three to four metres in height. It has small white flowers. The round reddish fruit appears in late autumn. Owing to its chemical contents, it is inadvisable to eat large quantities of the fruit, indeed the Romans called the tree “unedo”, meaning “just one”, a word which still forms part of its scientific name.

The Madroño room is decorated in tones of cinnamon, with a double bed and beautiful views of the surrounding hills and olive groves.
